10/13/08

• The October practice calendar has been updated!

• The meet scheduled for Nov 1-2 has been changed to an Oct 31-Nov 2 meet in Terre Haute. Check the meet schedule for more information. Meet entry forms were handed out last week and are due this Friday (10/17).

9/25/08

• The October practice calendar is now available!

• You'll also find a few changes to this weekend's practice schedules for this Friday and Saturday (26th & 27th). Please check to confirm your schedule. Contact your child's coach with any questions.

• Here are a few more September practice calendar has changes. Please see the calendar and make sure you have the latest version. Remember -- all calendar changes are in bold red font.

• Meet Info has been added for the 1st and 3rd meets. Please take the time to read through the meet info prior to each meet. You'll find plenty of useful information!

• September practice calendar has changed -- Jr High Prep on the 16th and 30th will now take place at BL South HS. Please update your calendars accordingly!

• Mark your calendars for BSC Apparel Night Thursday, September 18, from 5.30-7.30pm. Click here for the flyer -- and make sure to speak with your child's coach regarding apparel needs and options!

• September practice calendar is now available online. The calendar has been updated, so please use this calendar and discard any prior version you may already have.

• The 2008-2009 Short Course meet schedule is now online.

• IT'S TIME TO REGISTER! Mark your calendars and register for BSC's fall programs. Contact Coach Jeff with any program questions.
  -- Learn to Swim Program. This program is designed to improve your child's swimming abilities, increase your child's independence and confidence in the water, teach safety in water, and prepare your child for entry into competitive swimming.  There are multiple sessions to choose from, with the first session starting September 8. Go here for the parent letter and go here to download the registration form.
  -- Register for the Short Course. Here are the emails from Julie Posson regarding registration. Please read these prior to registering your swimmers.
  Registration will take place August 26-28 (26/North, 27/South, 28/Edgewood) from 6-8pm each evening. The short course begins Sep 8. Here are the forms you'll need to register:
       -- Registration documents. it's so easy -- just print your forms and bring them to registration! This Microsoft Excel spreadsheet contains the cost per swimmer for the various swimming levels, the short form registration form, the parent/swimmer code of conduct, and parent volunteer contract (please support your swimmer and volunteer!). If you prefer, these documents are available individually as pdf files: fee schedule, registration, code of conduct, parent volunteer contract.
       -- Medical Power of Attorney. What should BSC do if your child needs immediate or emergency medical treatment and you're not present or otherwise immediately available? BSC will make every effort to contact you but needs to be able to provide help if required. This medical power of attorney provides BSC with that authority. If you have any questions on this, read Julie Posson's emails or contact Coach Jeff. The easiest way to get this power of attorney notarized might be to visit your local bank. Every bank has a notary available and they should be happy to provide you with this service free of charge. Let me know if you have problems getting this notarized for free.
